Sold by us brand new back in the 1980s, these were very popular pianos from the time as they were good sounding, nice action and reliable instruments that were affordable. Before the Chinese piano makers got going we had a lot less choice of this category of instrument. Most entry level pianos being produced in Europe during the 70s and 80s have not stood the test of time very well as they contained plastic components that are starting to fail and are no longer available so many of those have now either been scrapped or waiting to be scrapped. These Calisia and their compatriots the Legnica pianos were made in a more robust and traditional manor giving them a much better chance to be repaired as necessary and therefore to endure.
This particular one has remained local to us in Hitchin all its life and although it has had a couple of owners since new, we have been on hand to service and repair it when required and it is still in great shape.
